We will meet at 4:00 p.m. at the South Door of the Cathedral of San Martiño (Plaza del Trigo) and here we will begin the history of this Romanesque temple, transition to Gothic. Did you know that there was another cathedral in Ourense before this one?
We will surround the entire Cathedral admiring its different facades, including the head. From this perspective you can see all the architectural styles that make it up and you will be able to take one of the most beautiful photos of this guided tour. Once inside we will delve into all the details that make it different, legends and curiosities.
First the museum of relics, here there are unique pieces in the world. We cannot forget the beautiful Portico of Paradise inspired by that of Santiago de Compostela. We will admire the beautiful late Gothic dome with the Flamboyant-style High Altar in the background. And of course, the essential visit to the baroque chapel of the famous Santo Cristo. Could it be true that his hair grows?
We’ll check it out… The visit will end at 6:00 p.m. inside so that you can voluntarily climb to the bell tower.
