Leaving Santiago de Compostela we head to the wonderful city of Lugo, famous for its incredible and well-preserved Roman wall that surrounds the entire historic center. We will also visit the majestic and surprising Playa de las Catedrales and, if the tide allows, we will be able to enjoy its rock formations made by sea erosion.
Route:
We will visit the city of Lugo with a guided tour of its historic center for approximately one and a half hours, discovering its famous Roman wall, its Cathedral and its medieval streets.
After visiting the city, we will head to Ribadeo, a small coastal town in the north of Galicia famous for the beauty of its streets and a history closely linked to Galician emigration.
After that we will head to Playa de Aguas Santas, or as it is popularly known, Playa de las Catedrales, whose name is due to the rocky shapes that house the fine white sand, evoking the flying buttresses of Gothic cathedrals.
We will enjoy a walk through this place, taking advantage of the low tide to sneak under the arches, which have a height of more than 30 meters. Absolutely stunning! As you walk along the beach you will be struck by the sound of the waves crashing against these stone giants. Its beauty means that it has become a Natural Monument and is in the ranking of the best beaches in Europe.
