Discover the most important and complete museum in Galicia about the culture of the Galician people. In the old convent of Santo Domingo de Bonaval, an extensive collection is preserved that will take you into the Galician tradition: the sea, the crafts, the countryside, clothing, music, sumptuary crafts, art, society, traditions and festivals, popular architecture… Tour Galicia in one place with a local guide who will explain everything you need to know about your trip to Galicia.

The tour will begin right at the entrance of the museum to observe the beautiful convent abandoned after the confiscation and recovered in the 70s to become the Museo do Pobo Galego and Panteón de Gallegos Ilustres.

We will start in the sea room, to see the typical Galician boats, we will continue to the countryside rooms where we will see the traditional types of cultivation in Galicia. We will continue our visit through the trade hall to now get to know its people: the milkmen, the traveling trades, the shoemakers… did you know that a very typical shoe from Galicia are clogs?

We continue towards a particularly prominent and famous place in the museum, the triple baroque helical staircase, a unique example of local baroque.

After this we will arrive at the basket and weaving room, which was one of the most important economic activities in Galicia. Who isn’t familiar with the lace and “palilleiras” of Camariñas?

Finally, we will delve into the world of folklore in the traditional music halls and we will end by visiting the church of the old convent.
