Ribeira Sacra from Santiago de Compostela

RIBEIRA SACRA TURISMO TOUR

Information

Delves into one of Galicia’s best kept secrets: the Ribeira Sacra. Get to know the nature of the south of the province of Lugo and north of Ourense, walk the Sil River and enjoy its impressive canyons.

Tour:

We will leave Santiago at 8:45 to one of the piers on the Sil River, where we can take a catamaran ride and enjoy the natural landscape: monasteries, wineries, vineyards…

Later, we will visit a typical Ribeira Sacra winery and we will be able to taste the famous wine of the area… did you know that in Galicia there are currently six designations of origin for their wines?

We will visit the Mirador Cañones del Río Miño, one of the tributaries of the Sil River. From here we can contemplate the Sil canyons and discover that the Miño has also naturally formed its own canyons.

Above the Sil Canyon we will see the Mirador do Duque, the only one in the town of Monforte de Lemos, headquarters of the Ribeira Sacra Wine Center. Here we will have free time to eat after a guided tour.

The largest sample of rural Romanesque art in the area is concentrated in the Ribeira Sacra. We could not leave behind the Monasteries of Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil, a Romanesque jewel located in a spectacular enclave.

In the afternoon, we will head to Santiago de Compostela to put an end to a trip full of history, art, landscapes and culture.
